Workers Compensation

Home / Services / Workers Compensation

I provide therapy for people experiencing a psychological injury or mental injury that has occurred as a result of one or more incidents at work that have caused psychological harm. A psychological injury compasses a range of cognitive, emotional and behavioural symptoms that interfere with a worker’s life and can significantly affect how they feel, think, behave and interact with others.

Psychological injury may include such disorders as depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder.

I also provide therapy for job or workplace stress where physical and emotional symptoms arise in response to work situations but do not meet sufficient criteria to be classified as a disorder or a psychological injury.

Early signs of workplace stress may include increased unplanned absences, withdrawal or deteriorating work performance.

Intervention at an early stage can often prevent a situation deteriorating and a worker developing a psychological injury.

If you have not yet lodged a workers compensation claim, I recommend accessing employee assistance support as an early intervention. You may also seek attendance as a private client with or without a referral from your General Practitioner with a Mental Health Care Plan. Where your symptoms signify an active mental health condition appropriate leave and medical consultation is recommended. I can support you with mental health assessment, diagnosis, intervention and return to work planning.
